  Roles and Responsibilities in Medical and Surgical Ward:
  • Performing initial and daily assessment as soon as the patient reaches the ward.
  • Updating hospital staff and healthcare professionals about a patient condition to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Prepares and administer (oral, subcutaneous, IM, IV) prescribed medications.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques while doing procedures.
  • Involved in resuscitating and stabilization of patients.
  • Checking for proper working condition of various Equipment’s in the patient unit.
  • Prepare the patient for various investigations like Angiography, Ultra Sound, Echo, CT scan, MRI, Endoscopy, etc..
  • Giving appropriate Health education and demonstration regarding appropriate health issues to the patient and family.
  • Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format i.e. Patient Report Forms, Incident Reports.
  • Participate in in-service nurse education programs conduct by the hospital.
  • Maintains proper supplies and appropriate medical equipment to care for patients.
  • Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner.
