Study the job description and any available information you have on the position. Are you mirroring the words and phrases in the job description? Are you showcasing your strengths in the areas that seem to be of paramount importance to this role?

Consider crafting, original, genuine thank you notes (one for each interviewer) the moment you get back to a computer, following the interview. The speed with which you send the notes, and the quality, will make an impact.

• Write a clear subject line (e.g. Application for Senior Designer).
• Don't send an email without a subject line.
• Don't send an email with a poorly formatted or vague subject line (e.g. Job application, my CV, job4me, whassup dude?, etc).
• Make sure your email has a clear subject line.
• Write 1-2 short paragraphs as the body of the email as a short version of your application letter. 
• Think about what the recipient is likely to prefer, not what you prefer.
• Finish your email with your full name, and telephone number.
• Don't forget to attach your CV and application letter.
