Summary of Career
1. • Responsible for providing engineering support for workshop activities to ensure that components and equipment are maintained and refurbished correctly. Ensure maintains and repairs pumps, motors, and hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other apparatus and equipment.
2. • Perform routine inspections on existing pumping equipment ensuring reliability and performance performs the installation of equipment and components; prepares and submits completed maintenance reports as required.
3. • Dismantles pumps and performs repairs, such as cleaning impellers, repacking stuffing boxes, tightening glands, and replacing bearings, using hand tools.
4. • Responsible for the plant and equipment maintenance and replacement of worn-out parts.
5. • Examines pumps for malfunctioning and to locate damage or wear, such as blowout packing, misalignment the pump shaft, slippage of the drive belt, worn bearings, or need for lubrication.
6. • Maintains records of maintenance and repair activities.
7. • Responsible for recording and maintaining engineering records.
8. • Involved in the design of new machines and equipment, whilst at the same time taking account of cost, availability of materials, strength and maintenance requirements.
9. • Reduced downtime by 85% by installing a backup system which kicked in within 5 minutes of a system failure. Successfully revamped a site-wide pump maintenance reducing maintenance expense.
10. • Part of a multi-disciplined team that completed an upgrade project with US$1.5 Million in annual benefits. Suggested inspecting systems daily, which resulted in diagnosing problems before they become crises.
