  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of welds welded via different welding techniques (SMAW, TIG, GMAW, SAW etc.) in accordance with company procedures and international codes of practice.
  • Inspection of incoming materials and review Material Test Certificate (MTC), ensure compliance with project
  specifications and procurement of necessary materials.
  • Implementation of Inspection & Test Plan (ITP), plan and manage QC activities as per project specifications.
  • Review approved drawings, ITP, NDE, welding procedures, inspection procedures and acceptance criteria.
  • Review WPS and PQR as per project specifications.
  • Witness procedure qualification (PQT) and performance qualification (WQT) tests.
  • Monitoring of welding parameters during welding according to approved WPS.
  • Perform weld joint fit-up inspection as per approved WPS.
  • Implement WPS and ITP and conduct inspections as per the ITP and raise NCRs for non-conformances.
  • Control of welding processes as per applicable WPS & PQR requirements. Well versed with codes like ASME Section IX and V.
  • Supervise NDT activities (PT, MT, UT & RT) for weld defect identification and keep record of all activities.
  • Review NDT (PT, MT, UT & RT) reports and keep record.
  • Ensure proper storage & handling of welding consumables and supervise PWHT and weld repairs.
  • Ensure the welding machines & tools are calibrated and within the validated period.
  • Witness Hydro test and painting/coating activities.
  • Report to the QA/QC Manager, control and monitor activities related to Quality Management System (QMS) (ISO 9001).
  • Performance evaluation of welders on the basis of repair rate and productivity.
  • Facilitate problem-solving and root cause analysis for quality issues.
  • Collaborate with sub-contractors for timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure all tasks are executed using the appropriate safety standards and are compliant with policies, regulations and company SOP’s.
  • Strictly implement and follow company’s HS&E policy.
