Duties & Responsibilities:
• Identifying the requirements and scope of work, review specifications, drawings and other documents of the project.
• Assessment of the commissioning work involved and assess the available resources and possible constraints.
• Ensure that all safety and precautionary requirements and procedures are followed during the commissioning.
• Manage and supervise the electric and instrumentation commissioning activities at the site on a day-to-day basis.
• Ensure that the commissioning plan includes information on materials, specific tools and vendor support to ensure an efficient and safe execution phase.
• Provide the technical support to the instrument commissioning team in order to improve the work progress.
• Reporting to the team leader on site as well as monitor the safety performance of all commissioning contractors on site.
• Review plans, schedules and vendor/engineering documents in order to start the site activities.
• In-charge for a team of instrument technicians during the commissioning and start up phase.
• Identify tools and test equipment required for performing commissioning activities & prepare specification for procurement.

• Provide the technical guidance to the design draftsman in order to prepare the As-builts engineering drawings.

Projects involved in DESCON Workshop/Sites:
Additional POV installation for GPR1, PP1, Borouge-II
The PP-1 Plant requires additional POV (Product Outlet Vessel) for Gas Phase Reactor (GPR-1) in addition to the existing POV 24-VV-401 due to future planned business requirements. Scope includes engineering, procurement and commissioning of 03 new CVs, 14 XVs and 17 new instruments to be added. 89 new I/O’s to added with the existing automation system, Existing DCS and ESD modifications including new assigned DCS/ESD interlocks.
Construction of 32 PARCO-PENEX modular package for UOP-Honeywell
UOP licensed the Penex process?technology to produce isomerate, a cleaner gasoline blend-stock that contains no benzene, aromatics or olefins. P&C based modular package scope includes the procurement and installation/trial fit of 44 control valves, 61 DP transmitters, 40 Pressure Transmitters, 05 Flow transmitters and 05 moisture analyzers.
Construction of 06 ARAMCO-VRU modular package for JohnZink Hamworthy
Carbon Adsorption Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs) safely prevent harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from being released into the atmosphere during operations that involve the transfer of evaporative hydrocarbons. Scope includes the installation of 17 control valves, 15 PT’s, 05 Flow Transmitters, 15 Temperature transmitter, and 08 DP transmitter.
Construction of 07 ADCO modular package for Sirritec Nigi
The purpose of this project is to fabricate and erection of 07 no. of modular package as a part of Phase III of the Al Dabb’iya field development which is planned to deliver an additional 73 MBOPD. Scope includes the installation of instrumentation and electrification/earthing of the modular package.
Construction of 12 KOC module for Petrofac
The purpose of this project is to construct and install the instrumentation on modules for the Kuwait oil company.
