The School of Communication & Creative Industries is inviting applications for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate level. We are looking for exceptional candidates who are passionate about teaching and research in the evolving fields of Media, Communication, and Digital Culture.
Job Role
Faculty members are expected to serve as subject matter experts for the program and assist the Chair/Coordinator with the ongoing operation of the academic program. They will ensure that the accredited curriculum is implemented in alignment with the university's academic standards and the requirements of the Ministry of Education Higher Education Affairs. Faculty will report directly to the Dean of the School and collaborate with the Chair/Coordinator and any relevant administrative staff within the department.
The faculty is required to teach a full course load and maintain office hours as needed. Any adjustments to the course load for research or community outreach will be made in consultation with the Chair/Coordinator, Dean, and Provost.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty members, in consultation with the Dean, should engage in non-instructional activities such as research, development, creative work, and administrative duties. Qualifications & Requirements
PhD in Journalism, Digital Media, Communication, or a related field from top 500 QS ranked universities, preferably western accredited universities.

Professional experience in journalism, digital media, or a related field is an advantage.

The School of Communication & Creative Industries is inviting applications for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate level. We are looking for exceptional candidates who are passionate about teaching and research in the evolving fields of Media, Communication, and Digital Culture.
Job Role
Faculty members are expected to serve as subject matter experts for the program and assist the Chair/Coordinator with the ongoing operation of the academic program. They will ensure that the accredited curriculum is implemented in alignment with the university's academic standards and the requirements of the Ministry of Education Higher Education Affairs. Faculty will report directly to the Dean of the School and collaborate with the Chair/Coordinator and any relevant administrative staff within the department.
The faculty is required to teach a full course load and maintain office hours as needed. Any adjustments to the course load for research or community outreach will be made in consultation with the Chair/Coordinator, Dean, and Provost.

First-of-its-kind training facility in Dubai, the Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) is located in Dubai South, Dubai World Central (DWC). With its unique facilities and resources, Emirates Flight Training Academy offers the opportunity to learn to fly in the most advanced flight training academy in the world.
Our fully-operational flight operations centre is dedicated to Emirates Flight Training Academy cadets only, making flight training part of everyday life at the Academy. This means you will have the opportunity to gain a complete operational experience in one holistic environment.
As a Flying Instructor in EFTA, you are responsible for delivering high quality flying training instruction, initially on SR-22 single engine aircraft, to ab-initio pilot cadets, at the Emirates Flight Training Academy. Instructional duties include on-aircraft, in-simulator and on-ground instruction, preparation of lessons, pre-and post-flight briefings, accurate report writing and assessment. Having demonstrated proficiency in the single engine instructional role, there is the potential to move onto the DA42 twin engine fleet. Irrespective of fleet, having successfully completed 5-years in the instructional role at EFTA, instructors will have the opportunity to apply to join Emirates Airline, an opportunity no other FTO can offer.
In this role:
You will provide training and flying instruction to ab-initio cadets.
Conduct pre and post flight training briefings to ensure cadets have the requisite knowledge and understand the process and procedure fully.
Conduct and deliver flying skills training in aircraft, simulator, and ground instruction to ensure the cadets meet the prescribed standards of flying.
Conduct regular checks for cadets to ensure they meet the course standards.
Ensure the safety of the cadets is paramount and report incidents to the concerned personnel for any violations and situations that may affect the safety of the operation.

Qualification

You must have experience as an Ab-initio flying instructional experience in a large ATO.
Minimum 700hrs Total Time, 500hrs Instructional time, 200hrs IFR time.
Minimum GCAA or any ICAO Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with a Single Engine Class Rating.
Minimum Flight Instructor Rating with Night and Instrument privileges.

Has occasional contact with students. Works with various contractors in the technology aspect of construction of new facilities.
Required Skills
Must possess a master’s degree in related field from an accredited Institution with a minimum of 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in a Higher Education IT environment, including five years of management experience with a record of steady advancement in responsibility in a complex organization, preferably in higher education. Or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience.
In-depth knowledge of total enterprise systems implementation in order to manage and monitor technical staff.
Experience in a multi-campus environment with both a centralized and partially decentralized organization structure.
Able to share information in an effective & collaborative manner, both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrates a spirit of service excellence
Demonstrates initiative to generate improvements and foster positive outcomes.
Demonstrates interpersonal effectiveness in the workplace.
Demonstrates proficiency in technical and job knowledge aspects of the position to achieve high level of performance. Able and willing to learn.

Responsibilities
Envision and provide the best possible, exemplary practices-based information technology resources and services in support of Zayed University’s mission.
Envision and provide innovative IT resources and services in support of the University’s educational and administrative goals that employ leading edge, exemplary practices and maximize cost/productivity.
Lead the development of technological approaches to academic and administrative support systems and on-going data management systems.
Provide technical expertise, information, and assistance to the Institution regarding assigned functions; assist as needed in the formulation and development of policies, procedures, and programs.
Ensure the proactive support of students, staff, and faculty with regards to technological issues.
Inspire, develop, and manage the technology staff using quality service techniques in order to provide timely and accurate IT systems and services at high levels of customer satisfaction.
Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; interview and select employees and recommend transfers, reassignment, termination, and disciplinary actions; plan, coordinate and arrange for appropriate training of subordinates; respond to various personnel and staff issues.
Attend and conduct a variety of meetings including staff, committee, and other meetings as assigned; represent the Computing Services Department on assigned committees. Represent the department on the Educational Technology Standing Committee
Plan, organize, and implement short and long-term programs and activities designed to develop IT facilities, programs, and services.
Develop and prepare assigned budgets; analyze and review budgetary and financial data; control and authorize expenditures in accordance with established university policies; determine allocation of budget and staffing resources to obtain departmental goals.
Direct the preparation and maintenance of IT benchmarks as well as a variety of narrative and statistical reports related to assigned programs, activities, and services.
Communicate with other administrators, university personnel, and contractors to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information; negotiate with vendors and contractors per university policies.
Assume overall responsibility for the technology aspect of the design, construction and commissioning of new campuses, buildings and other facilities
Liaise with an Educational Technology unit to provide advice and ensure that the technology infrastructure is in place that provides adequate resources to their efforts

Our teaching portfolio includes an undergraduate principal subject in the Strathclyde Business School as well as our MSc in Data Analytics, MSc Business Analysis and Consulting, and an MSc in Health Analytics, Policy and Management. We are looking for candidates in all areas of Management Science and Operational Research but are particularly interested in candidates who offer teaching expertise in areas such as innovation management, supply chains, optimisation and analytics.

We are looking for candidates with a strong track record of teaching to a high-standard and with ambitions to grow their teaching scholarship further. You will be expected to begin to build and lead teaching on the UG programme, and contribute to teaching innovation in the Department.
