    Problem management report (PMR1) project is a web-based tool, multi-user system. Each PMR comprises one customer complaint. Basically, it is a part of customer support system. Customer creates a PMR electronically or calls IBM Support Line entitles the customer and then queues the PMR to AFSL2 team (based in USA) which then searches the database, does initial findings and if problem is not solved already or does not have any references, requeues the PMR's to AFSL3queue to be assign. This system starts its processing by downloading the PMR's into the IBM server. By doing FTP, the downloaded PMR's gets transferred into another server. After FTP the system will run the java program which will populate the database for future use. This system will have the facility to create the Internal defect and also close the Internal defect This Internal defect link will also show the list of 'Open Internal Defect' which are not solved and Closed Internal Defect' which are solved internal defect.
    Problem management report (PMR2) project is the next version of the above project. It includes many new features like supports multiple teams like AFS (Andrew File System), DFS (Distributed File System), LDAP, etc. It also supports multiple queue; different reports are generated for each team as well as for each department. It also provides a link called 'Review Tool' which will show list of delta patch files, the list of developer's working on each delta (developer get a problem, work on it and it results into a delta), list of reviewer (the reviewer is among the developer who is associated / knowledgeable to review the code changes made by the developer, each developer has one reviewer).It provides the 'Review Form' link which will show several review comments among the developer and the reviewer. And finally provides the developer a link called 'Approval Link' to give list of delta for Managers approval after successful test made by the build. This system also provides 'Users' link which show the list of names, email-id's, responsibilities of developers, a manager and a build working on each Patch This tool generates the reports on the fly and show the automatic mailing facility using SMTP protocol.
